This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not be issued. The reference number for this acquisition is FM285572220103. The government intends to award a sole source purchase order Micro Photonics Inc. The solicitation document and incorporate provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-12 (4 Aug 2006) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement change notice 20060814. It is the Offeror?s responsibility to be familiar with applicable clauses and provisions. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 334516 with a size standard of 500 employees. This commercial acquisition is for the purchase for 1 (one) each Compression Stage 1172-mS, P/N: 1172-mS. This compression stage is intended to integrate with and augment the existing Skyscan 1172 microtomography unit already in use at Det 1, Naval Dental Research Lab, Great Lakes MI. The compression stage is custom designed by the same manufacturer to fit into the existing unit without interruption of service. The type of contract anticipated is firm-fixed price. This procurement is to be processed using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, and in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items.
