The Microbiology Laboratory, VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York, at VA Medical Center Albany NY is seeking qualified, responsible firms who have the technical expertise and necessary resources to provide AMPLIFIED NUCLEIC ACID TESTING reagents and INSTRUMENTATION to be used for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Proposals will be solicited for the base year requirement and four, one- year subsequent renewal options. The awardee of this contract must be able to provide predispensed, dry test reagents that require no reconstitution or mixing by laboratory staff. In addition, the instrumentation associated with this contract must perform strand displacement amplification and amplicon detection processes in a closed test system that requires no more than 1 hour for test completion. The test system must be able to simultaneously detect Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae from male and female urogenital swab and urine specimens.
