The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), Fort Detrick, MD intends to negotiate solely (as prescribed in FAR 13.106(b)(1)(i) with BD Biosciences, 2350 Qume Drive, San Jose, CA 95131, for the procurement of a FACSCanto IUI Cytometer.
The current data acquisition is processed using BD Biosciences proprietary software which ensures continuity between related and ongoing experiments. BD Biosciences is the manufacturer and sole vendor. It offers a tri-laser automated FDA IVD cleared eight-color instrument for flow Cytometer. BD Biosciences has historically provided reliable and rapid flow Cytometer service for both maintenance and troubleshooting that has reduced the time required for the instrument to be down. This analyzer will allow the Bacteriology Division to complete immune response assays more efficiently and with more consistency than the current methods in use at this time. These assays are an integral component of our mouse model studies for Burkholderia spp. Extensive training is necessary in order to maximize the capabilities of this instrument.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334516 and the size standard of 500.
