The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Pacific West Area, Root Disease and Biological Control Unit in Pullman, Washington intends to purchase from Qiagen, Inc. accessories and equipment to supplement the Qiagen Bio Robot 3000. This is a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement in the case of the follow-on contract. The equipment required consists of a BioRobot robotic arm upgrade, deck upgrade, adapters, lab hand system, (robotic hand for manipulating microplates on the work deck), shaker system, peristaltic pump for bulk reagent delivery, vacuum manifold system, variable heating and cooling system and miscellaneous holders, all of which must fit the existing equipment and function as a unit with the operating system.
