NASA/GSFC has a requirement for 12 CdTe Detectors. These detectors must have better than or equal to 250 microns pixel pitch, 180 by 180 pixels, have independent pixels and must be bump-bonded to their own electronics which can provide read-out. This circuitry must be able to read-out the entire detector at a rate of at least 9000 times per second with an energy resolution of better than 2 keV at 22 keV for 90% of the pixels.

NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.

The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:00 p.m. local time on April 17, 2015. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
