The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Sakura FineTek USA, Inc., 1750 W. 214th Street, Torrance, CA 90501-2857 for continued maintenance coverage for a term of one year on a Tissue-Tek Xpress instrument and related equipment (two slide stainers, one tissue processor and one Tissue-Tek Cryo 3 cryostat). The instrument is used for processing, staining and microscopic diagnosis of tissue specimens in the short turnaround time of 90 minutes. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued.
