The Government intends to award a contract for a Fireberd 8000 Advanced Datacomm Results with Diphase Package to JDS Uniphase Corporation, 430 N Mccarthy Blvd., Milpitas, CA 95035, under the statutory authority at 10 USC2304(c) (1), and regulatory authority at FAR 6.302-1: Only one responsible source. JDS Uniphase is the Manufacturer of the Fireberd 8000 Advanced Datacomm Results with Diphase Package (JDS Uniphase part number FB8000-P5) and retains proprietary rights to that system. The Fireberd 8000-P5 is used for testing specialized communication equipment. A Quantity of 12 each is required. The Government does not have the required technical data package to pursue a competitive acquisition. The requirement includes the following items: FB8000, Fireberd 8000 Application Module, Qty 12 each, 2000-V6, TestPad 2000(Version 6) User Interface Module, Qty 12 each, FB8000-CLK, Clock Recovery Software Option, Qty 12 each, FB8000-DPH Diphase Interface Module, Qty 12 each, FB8000-ADVR, FB8000 Advanced Datacomm Results (Clock/Data Phase Graph, Broken Lead Detection) Qty 12 each, and FB8000 Basic 5 Service ValuePak (FB8000) Qty 12 each.
