The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, VISN 5, VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Instrumentation Laboratory. The proposed contract action is to upgrade existing GEM 3000 instruments located at the VAMHCS Baltimore and Perry Point locations. These instruments are required for continued use of reagents for the Intensive Care Unit, OR, and anesthesia for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the statutory authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes they can meet these requirements may give a written notification to the Contracting Officer within six (6) days from the date of publication. Supporting evidence must be provided in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information may be sent to the Contracting Officer, VA Maryland Health Care System, P.O. Box 1000, Perry Point, MD 21902. Responses are due by December 27, 2007 at 12 Noon, EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
