NASA/JSC has a requirement for the following BioMedical equipment and supplies: (1)Model 325 InSpectra Tissue Spectrometer System which includes; (2) 2 Tissue Spectrometer Models 325, (3) 2 Optical Cables 25mm, (4) 2 Calibrator with four shields 25mm, (5) 2 Systems checks, (6) 2 OptoLink R232 Optical Converters, and (7) 4 United States Power Cords. NASA/JSC intends to purchase these specific items from Hutchinson Technology Inc. Hutchinson Technology Inc. Model 325 InSpectra System is the only system that meets all the requirements and that is FDA approved to be used for Human subjects. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on June 20, 2003. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely with in discretion of the government. Oral communication is not acceptable in response to this notice. The Government does not intended to procure a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26.
