This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A BRAND NAME contract for Synergy 4 Complete System using Federal Acquision Regulation FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. This will be an acquisition under the authority of the test program for commercial items section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996. The US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command Contracting Center, Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005-3013 has a requirement to procure the following items:

The Synergy 4 is a multi-mode microplate plate reader that allows the user maximum flexibility for absorbance, luminescence, and fluorescence assays. The Synergy 4 is the only multi-mode microplate reader on the market that has both monochromator and filter based fluorescence. The Synergy 4 has been approved for a wide variety of assays, such as: DLR, HTRF, Lanthascreen, Transcreener, AlphaScreen, diachemix, and Gyrasol Technologies. The Synergy 4 also comes standard with Gen5 data analysis software with instant export to Microsoft Excel, incubation up to 65C, microplate shaking, the ability to inject into 96-well and 384-well microplates, and top and bottom read capabilities for fluorescence. Lastly, the Synergy 4 has the ability to read from 1-1536-well plates, to read a 96-well plate in 11 seconds and a 384-well plate in 22 seconds.

The intended delivery date for the items is 10 August 2009.

The associated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334516 and the Business Size Standard is 500 employees.

All responses received within ten (10) days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 2:00 PM DST Eastern Time, Tuesday, July 7, 2009. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in this and future procurements.
