ERDC Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.501 to Veeco Metrology, INC., 112 Robin Hill Road Santa Barbara, CA 93117

This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)-only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

Veeco Metrology, INC. is the only known source capable of meeting the governments requirements for the Dimension Icon Atomic Force Microscope. This is the only Atomic Force Microscope that meets the salient characteristics needed by the Environmental Lab.

The government intends to acquire this service using FAR Part 13. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 1:00 p.m. CST on June 21, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
