The National Data Buoy Center intends to negotiate only with Harsh/Synergetics International of Eaton, Colorado for 30 Each, Model 14A-N QFH RHCP High angle UHF Omni directional GOES antennas with female N connector and 10 Each Model 15A-N QFH RHCP low angle UHF Omni directional GOES antennas with female N connector. The NDBC uses the antennas to accompany the HDR GOES systems on NOOS buoys and are the only antennas that have been certified for use with the Sutron HDR GOES transmitter with 40 watt amplifier. These models are necessary due to the harsh conditions of Hurricane alley and require a look angle above 45 degrees elevation and the 15A models with a low look angle for Alaskan buoys. See numbered Notes 1 and 22.
