The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Air Resources Laboratory (ARL), Atmospheric Turbulence and Diffusion Division (ATDD), is issuing notice of intent to negotiate a sole source procurement with Genor, Inc., to provide twenty-five (25) Precipitation Gauges, each gauge equipped with three signal adapter circuits. This equipment is used to assist in the logging of real-time measurements of precipitation. With more than 76 monitoring stations providing data to the U.S. Climate Reference Network (CRN), it is imperative that information being sent is accurate and consistent. These additional precipitation gauges must match the existing equipment to ensure accuracy and provide logical cohesiveness of data to such critical area of weather forecasting. The statutory authority is 41 U.S.C.(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. The applicable NAICS code is 334513. The size standard is 500 employees. Interested parties may identify their interest and must provide evidence of their capability to respond to this requirement by June 30, 2005. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Note 22 applies.
