The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to purchase a Quad™ Personalized Purification System and accessories from Biotage, Inc., 1725 Discovery Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22911. The specifications shall be included in the system: 1) CV Pump Module, 4-channel, Quad1 (One Quad1 Pump™ Module) (a) runs up to four (4) FLASH/FLASH+ Cartridges; (b) one pump housing with control module; (c) four inline filters. 2) Quad 12/25 Cartridge Module, 4-channel, 12mm or 25mm cartridges (One Quad Pneumatically operated Compression Module) (a) holds up to four FLASH 12+M™ or four FLAHS 25+M™ cartridges. 3) Quad FLASH Collector and Quad UV Module (One Quad FLASH Collector) (a) one fraction collector; (b) one block holder tray; (c) one collection arm to collect up to four flow streams; (d) two collection arms to collect up to twelve flow streams; (One Quad 4-Channel UV Detector and Recorder); (e) Four individual prep flow cells; (f) variable wavelength from 210 to 350 nm; (g) two three-pen strip chart recorders; (h) includes 0 to 1 volt analog output. 4) 13 mm Test Tube Rack, 4 x 20 fractions, 2/pk (One set of two Quad test tube racks for use with Quad FLASH Collector. Allows up to 40 fractions to be collected from up to 4 cartridges simultaneously. Holds 13 mm diameter test tubes. 5) Additional 18mm Test Tube Rack, 4 x 12 fractions, 2/pk (One set of two Quad test tube racks for use with Quad FLASH Collector. Allows up to 24 fractions to be collected from up to 4 cartridges or up to 12 fractions from up to 8 cartridges simultaneously. Holds 18 mm diameter test tubes. 6) FLASH 12+M™ cartridges, case of 20 (12 mm ID by 15 cm long bed, pre-packed with nominally 8 grams of KP-Sil™, 32-63 mm, 60 Å silica). 7) FLASH 25+M™ cartridges, case of 20 (25 mm ID by 15 cm long bed pre-packed with nominally 40 grams of KP-Sil™, 32-63 mm, 60 Å silica). The Institute intends to purchase this equipment by other than full and open competition from Biotage Incorporated. To the best of the Governments knowledge they are the sole manufacturer and distributor of this equipment. Interested vendors may identify in writing their interest with a capability statement to the contracting Officer prior to the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals however, the Government will consider all responses received before the closing date of this announcement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. It is anticipated that Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-03-926 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is July 8, 2003.
