USACE, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Contracting Office intends to issue a sole source award to Instron, 825 University Ave, Norwood, MA, 02062-2643 for maintenance and calibration services for Instron Electropuls E3000, Instron Electromechanical machine, Baldwin, Tinius Olsen, Materials Testing System load frame, three MTS 110k actuators, and MTS 600k actuator..

Instron is the manufacturer of two pieces of equipment and these machines use proprietary parts from Instron.

The Government intends to procure from only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), test program for commercial items (section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996). This will be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures per FAR 13. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available.
