Under Statutory Authority ร‚ยง 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) the VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Horiba Jobin Yvon Inc., Edison, NJ for a Fluoromax-4 Scanning Spectrofluorometer and associated equipment for the Research Department of the Jesse Brown VAMC, Chicago, IL. The Fluoromax-4 Scanning Spectrofluorometer is the only Spectrofluorometer that has the capability to meet the analytical speed and maximum sensitivity of fluorescence measurements to allow the reasonable and practical amount of biological samples and reliable and reproducible results. The Cuvette readings and microplate attachment on the FluoroMax-4 also allow for high throughput screening. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored.
