Under Statutory Authority ร‚ยง 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) the VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Horiba Jobin Yvon Inc., Edison, NJ for a Fluoromax-4 Scanning Spectrofluorometer and associated equipment for the Research Department of the Jesse Brown VAMC, Chicago, IL. The Fluoromax-4 Scanning Spectrofluorometer is the only Spectrofluorometer that has the capability to meet the analytical speed and maximum sensitivity of fluorescence measurements to allow the reasonable and practical amount of biological samples and reliable and reproducible results. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Contract is firm fixed price and FOB Destination. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and service to the Contracting Officer by 12:00PM (CST) November 8, 2010.
