The intent of this notice is to determine the availability of qualified business sources technically capable of providing the below:

(1) TapeStation System and Maintenance

This requirement is to provide the above items for Forensic Criminal Investigation Laboratory and maintenance from 1 October 2014 to 30 September 2015. The intent of this notice is to determine the availability of qualified commercial sources technical capable of providing the below salient characteristics of a TapeStation System for a Forensic Laboratory Quality Management System:

An instrument with integrated analysis software, necessary reagents kits and consumable to support DNA Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) validations studies at forensic laboratory.

A unique system that is capable of providing the analysis of DNA, RNA and protein by proprietary small scale gel electrophoresis.

Must be able to validate amplicon and DNA evaluation for the MiSeq and the ION torrent PGM NGS platforms

A DNA quality, tape-based and easy to use platform that provides fast and reliable electrophoresis

Provide analysis of DNA, RNA and protein by proprietary small scale gel electrophoresis combined with the validation for use with NGS platforms (MiSeq and ION torrent)

Potential offerors having the skills, experience, professional qualifications, and capabilities necessary to perform the described requirement are invited to provide a capabilities statement via e-mail. The Capability statements shall not exceed five (5) pages and must include the following: 1) Company name and Point of Contact information (address, telephone, e-mail, web-site, etc.); 2) DUNS number and CAGE code; 3) Small Business Size/Certification (to include 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc.); and 4) Familiarity and knowledge of the requirement and 5) Advise if you can or cannot provide on a GSA Schedule.

Responses are due no later than 1000hrs EST, Monday, 4 August 2014, and shall be electronically submitted to [email protected]. All responses will be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for a potential future acquisition. Response is strictly voluntary; no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests.
