Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Trimble Naviagation, 5475 Kellenburger road, Dayton, OH 45424 for 2 ea, Trimble R8 GNSS Base Kit, P/N R8200-91-66; 2 ea, Trimbl e R8 410-470 MHz Transmit Factor Upgrade, P/N 52426-00; 1 ea, Trimble Control Unit, P/N TSC211110; 1 ea Accessory - TSC2 GPS Accessory Kit, P/N 56044-00; and 1 ea, HPB450 UHF Radio System, 450-470 MHz, 35W, 25 kHz. This procurement is being conducted unde r Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)  only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Trimble equipment is compatible with other equipment already owned by ERDC and other similar equipment has been fou nd not to be compatible. The government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities/qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 0700 h rs Central Time Zone on 08 May 2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to compete this propose d effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
