On behalf of the NSRDEC located in Natick MA and under the authority of Under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), the U.S. Army Contracting Command-APG, Natick Contracting Division Natick, MA, intends to award a purchase order to Agilent Technologies Inc. of Wilmington DE for a UV-VIS-NIR Spectrophotometer equipment instrument with wavelength range from 175-3300nm . It is required to replace Varian Cary 500 spectrophotometer which is no longer functioning properly and providing consistent reproducible data. This instrument is used to measure the spectral reflectance of combat uniforms. A different instrument will also introduce more variation from manufacturers' data. There are numerous accessories and tools from the older model that will function with the new model and will not have to be purchased. Several Government suppliers have purchased the same equipment in the last 11 years to match the Government spectrophotometer in order to ensure that all parties have repeatable and accurate results.
