The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) intends to procure a zebrafish housing system (to include Installation, Startup and Training) from Tecniplast USA Inc, 180 Gordon Drive, Suite 109, Exton, PA 19341.The housing system will consist of the following: Quantity of (1) - ZebTec Multilink Rack (5 rows), Right Hand, Holds (10) 3.5L or (5) 6.0L tanks/row; Quantity of (5) - ZebTEC Zebrafish Tank Body, 3.5 Liter (Case of 10); Quantity of (5) - ZebTEC Lid for 3.5 Liter Tank (Case of 10); Quantity of (5) - ZebTEC Baffle for Adult Fish (Case of 10); Quantity of (5) ? ZebTEC Stainless Steel Syphon (Case of 10); Quantity of (5) - ZebTEC Blue Silicon Syphon Spring (Case of 10) and Quantity of (1) - Water Treatment Unit for Multi-Linking Configuration, without Chiller. A large number of zebrafish adults need to be maintained using a rack system with life support equipments in our labs. The zebrafish housing system from Tecniplast USA is equipped with the central column house that automatically monitor and controls pH and temperature, which can also be linked to the monitoring system of the building. The lab already has a smaller system from Tecniplast USA and we now need the additional equipment to extend the system. Tecniplast USA monitor/control unit also is compatible with the existing life support system from Tecniplast which is a requirement of the housing system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations however, all responses received, within 15 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition. Offerors may request a copy of the Request for Quotation (RFQ) in writing or by FAX to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. It is anticipated that the RFQ NIH-NIDDK-08-136 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication of this synopsis.
