The Department of Veterans Affairs Mid Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6) intends to contract with Aiken Instruments for the procurement of one Zeiss Axio Scope.A1 Laboratory Microscope and four Zeiss Axio Lab.A1 Laboratory Microscopes (Microscope options attached) for the Health Care Center (HCC) in Fayetteville, NC, which is under construction at this time. The Zeiss Axio Microscopes are to be used in the new Lab Department. Delivery is to be made to the Fayetteville HCC in Fayetteville, NC for June 1, 2015, which will allow of the completion of construction. The proposed contract is for equipment for which the government intends to contract on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent to sole source is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 2:00 PM, September 17, 2014, local time. Interested parties must submit all technical information required to make a determination that the proposed units meet or exceed the specifications of the above referenced unit. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract, based on responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
