The Department of Veterans Affairs, Birmingham, AL VA Medical Center intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 13.106-1, for Jess System western blot nano-immunoassay platform from ProteinSimple. This equipment is a platform for automated size-based separation and nano-immunoassay for the detection and characterization of protein molecular weights in denatured protein lysates. It automatically performs all the manual steps typically associated with traditional Western analysis and provides true quantitation of results upon completion of an experiment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement and who is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), authorized dealer, authorized distributor or authorized reseller of all the items listed above, may submit a capability statement to the contracting office to the contracting office no later than Thursday, July 1, 2021, 12:00 PM, EST. However, those statements shall describe in detail how the vendor can meet or exceed the Veterans Affairs requirements.
