000HCTBD-2007-44830 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a purchase order to Protocol Analytical LLC of 203 Norcross Ave, Metuchen, NJ 08840-1253. A purchase order will be issued for the custom synthesis of calibration standards and customized proficiency testing materials. Synthesize Calibration standards and PTs will be made in blank natural urine (or deionized water when specified). All organic materials will be packaged and shipped as specified by the National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH)- Division of Laboratory Services. Five concentrations will be in each standard calibration and three proficiency testing levels will be distributed in sets of five by random allotments:Line Item Nomenclature

The authority for this sole source procurement is FAR 6.302-1. Justification for other than full and open competition is considered due to continued need to match existing products for on-going research being conducted by the CDC, National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH). This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the Protocol Analytical proficiency testing materials by predetermined and specified purity are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 5 days of the publication date of this synopsis. Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the U.S. Government.
