The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN-6 VA Healthcare System is requesting information related to vendors capable of providing medical cylinder gases utilized at VA Medical Centers throughout Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 6. The addressed of the medical centers are as follows: VAMC Asheville, 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805 VAMC Beckley, 200 Veterans Avenue, Beckley, WV 25801 VAMC Durham, 508 Fulton Street, Durham, NC 27705 VAMC Fayetteville, 2300 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301 VAMC Hampton, 100 Emancipation Drive, Hampton, VA 23667 Hunter Holmes McGuire VAMC, 1201 Broad Rock Blvd., Richmond, VA 23249 VAMC Salem, 1970 Roanoke Blvd, Salem, VA 24153 W. G. "Bill" Hefner VAMC, 1601 Brenner Avenue, Salisbury, NC 28144 The gases to be purchased include, but are not limited to compressed Medical Air USP, Oxygen USP, Carbon Dioxide USP, Nitrogen NF, Nitrous Oxide USP, Helium USP, and specialty medical gas mixtures. The vendor will fill and deliver Government owned cylinder and Vendor Owned Cylinders. The vendor must also be capable of testing and inspecting Government owned cylinders. Vendors will be required to comply with Department of Transportation regulations, FDA regulations, and CGA standards and guides. This is not a request for bids, quotes, or proposals. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified businesses. The responses to this announcement will assist in determining the socio-economic set aside if feasible. The Veterans Administration is required by Public Law 104-9 to give first priority to SDVOSB and VOSB concerns if there should be sufficient firms available to compete under a set aside. If insufficient veteran owned and small business response is received to establish the basis for setting this action aside for other than large business participation then the action will be advertised as full and open competition, in which case, all interested parties responding shall be eligible to bid. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government.
