NA The Volpe Center plans to procure a sole source Simplified Acquisition from Abaqus Solutions Northeast, LLC, Warwick, RI, to provide the renewal of ABAQUS finite element analysis software license for one year, April 1, 2004 to March 31, 2005. This requirement is for a two-seat license for a finite element analysis software system, which is capable of linear, nonlinear, static and dynamic analysis. The product must include a graphical post-processing feature, which is compatible with Silicon Graphics workstation display capabilities. Small Business firms classified under NAICS Code 42143 that are interested in responding, must have a code that would allow for adaptive meshing capabilities using Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian techniques, include multiple plasticity models capable of mode ling metals, rubbers, geomechanic materials, and crushable foam materials and the code should also include an equation of state material property model capable of modeling fluid-solid interactions during low velocity impacts with the possibility of perforation. Small business firms will be required to submit one page of documentation in support of the criteria listed above prior to receiving a Request for Quote (RFQ). This proposed action is for services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority 6.302. This notice of intent in not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice received would normally be considered, solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. RFQ Issuance will be on or about March 31, 2004. Telephone requests will not be accepted, only written requests for this quotation will be accepted, however, requests via facsimile will be accepted at (617) 494-3024, Attn: Karen Marino, DTS-853.
