Salient characteristics for purchase of channel switch for the NORAD-Northcom (N-NC)/J625 Trusted Information Exchange (TIE) Background: Currently, data back up and retrieval (MAC Levels) are cumbersome and restrictive, reducing data mining and archival space to unacceptable levels. The required EMC Centera channel switch is currently used with the TIE system. It is time to replace the switch for the MAC Levels portion of the TIE system. The following are the salient characteristics required.- The EMC system or equal equipment must provide fast recovery of MAC I, II and III applications from an intra- and inter-site outage. - This will lower our overall storage costs. It will lower cost by reducing the amount of data that must be recovered from backups. - Provides fast primary application startup that will ensure disaster recovery and continuity of perations. - Will ensure every document is only stored once. - Solution includes: a NIPR 16 node Centera - with 14.4TB usable; current capacity used on NIPR 19.5TB and a SIPR 12 node Centera - with 10.8TB usable; current capacity used on SIPR 13.1TB. - To complete the capability we require the following software or its equal: EmailXtender Archive Edition ™ reduces storage costs and increases server performance by migrating email messages and attachments into a centralized message archive.
