2. A demonstration that the proposed contractor is the only source available to provide these services or goods (i.e. unique qualifications, proprietary rights, etc.):

Apple provides custom designed computer equipment to meet USARIEM's needs. Their parts are easily exchanged; they have rapid service call response and general reliability of their products. Also, all required software to complete the MRI analyses is functional on the Apple OS X platform, and this will ensure 100% compatibility and reliability.

3. A description of the market research that was conducted and the results, or a statement of the reason a market research was not conducted:

Alternate vendors were identified by ARIEM, but none meet their exact requirements, the Apple is compatible with all our needs.
