The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate Rome NY intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source purchase order under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 with Meta VR, 80 Somerset Rd, Brookline MA, 02445-4514, for the purchase of the following item: Meta VR software license, VRSG v5, Quantity 1. Though this notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, information received by the response date of this solicitation will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The NAICS code is 511210. Sole Source Justification: The authority is applicable since MetaVR is the publisher and only source that distributes the Meta VR VRSG v5 software license directly. The AFRL-developed systems are to be used by customers for research and development under the Integrated Test Bed laboratory research programs. These programs will support a system being developed for the 46TH Test Squadron, Eglin AFB, FL, and future research programs. It is important to purchase this software as it preserves the platform independent development and compatibility with existing software. It is imperative that the software match exactly the current software which exists due to the associated toolkits.
