The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency [U S EPA] Office of Research & Development, National Environmental Research Laboratory, Environmental Sciences Division [ORD/NERL/ESD] intends to award a sole source fixed-price purchase order using Federal Acquisition Regulation [FAR] Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, to NEC Business Network Solutions of Las Vegas, Nevada, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. The purpose of this acquisition is to provide maintenance and emergency service on the government-owned NEC-NEAX 2400 telephone system, including 5200 software, for the period June 15, 2004, through June 14, 2005. This system is located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The NAICS code for this procurement is 517110. It has been determined that because of the age of the equipment and the availability of parts only to NEC, it is the only vendor uniquely qualified to meet this requirement. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE [RFQ] IS AVAILABLE. Not withstanding, any firm who believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement as stated herein may submit a response which, if received within 15 calendar days of the date of this announcement, will be considered.
