The US Army at Picatinny Arsenal has a need to purchase a spare reactor for its induction plasma Nanopowder fabrication system. The spare reactor will be dedicated for the pilot scale manufacturing of oxide and non-oxide nano-ceramic powders at kilogram per hour rates. The reactor will be designed to use solid, liquid, or gaseous precursors as feedstock. Accordingly, the reactor will have provision for corrosive media handling, and scrubbing capability to properly treat the effluents. The reactor should also have a closed loop recirculation system to treat hydrochloric acid, along with a dedicated vacuum pump and pressure control for adequate safety of operation. the reactor will demonstrate the high degree of process control needed to fabricate nano-powders with desired particle size and distribution repeatedly. Potential suppliers will be required to develop and demonstrate the performance of the reactor to produce various oxide and non-oxide nano-ceramic powders with reasonable control of powder size and distribution. The complete package must include on-site installation and training. Follow-up application training must also be available. POC for this requirement is William Sharpe 973-724-7144.
