This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Request For Quotation (RFQ) number is N66604-09-R-2728. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2000-07. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center intends to place a fixed price order with Themis Computer, Fremont, CA on a sole source basis for the following: 3 ea. Themis P/N 31-601121-LXP; Model LM-USPIIe-USB/1-1024-600-PS2 600 MHz UltraSPARC IIe processor, single slot board; 11 ea. Themis P/N 31-601122-LXP; Model LM-USPlle-USB/2P2-1024-600-PS2 600 MHz UltraSPARC iie processor, dual slot board; 6 ea. Themis P/N 108432; SCSI Cable, 68 pin, SCSI3 6 plug ribbon; 6 ea. Themis P/N 108712; SCSI Cable, Front! panel SCSI-2 Fast/Wide cable, 68 pin, 3 foot. Delivery is within 10 weeks of award. The basis for the sole source is that this hardware will be used in sonar processing and networking, thus must be the same in existing systems for compatibility purposes in order to ensure the equivalence to existing shipboard platforms. Additionally, the software used has stringent hardware requirements which would cause installation errors if equivalence is not maintained. All other timely offers will be considered. Evaluation will be in accordance with FAR 52.212-2 Evaluation--Commercial Items. Evaluation factors are technical capability, price and past performance. Each is equally important.
