SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Hovermatt Mattress The Department of Veterans Affairs, The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 10701 East Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 8.405-6(b)(1), Limited sources justification and approval. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with Hovertech International, 4482 Innovation Way, Allentown, PA 18109, for Hovermatt Mattresses. With the revolutionary HoverMatt air-assisted technology, the mattress and the patient float on a cushion of air, so caregivers can safely transfer patients without lifting or straining. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Tuesday, July 28, at 5PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.  All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government.  A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
