BioMed Central to access the journals via the Internet. Specifically, the contractor and the NIH Library plan to enter into a site license allowing electronic access for the following twelve electronic journal titles:Current allergy and asthma reports,Current neurology and neuroscience reports, Current urology reports, Current hypertension reports, Current hematology reports, Current gastroenterology reports, Current psychiatry reports, Current oncology reports, Current treatment options in oncology, Critical care, Current opinion in drug discovery & develop., Current opinion in investigational drugs, Current opinion in molecular therapeutics, IDrugs, Arthritis research & therapy, Breast cancer research, Genome biology, Faculty of 1000 biology, The scientist. The period of performance or subscription will be one year. BioMed Central Group is the publisher of these journals, already subscribed to by the NIH Library, and provides the only source for a negotiated multisite license providing access to all NIH staff. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures and is exempt from the requirement of FAR Part 6. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System code 511120 with a size standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product/service. All capability statements received within (15) days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. See Numbered Note 22.
