The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City, Florida (NSWC PC), is requesting proposals for full and open competition to perform fabrication, test and delivery of a minimum of six (6) and up to twelve (12) shipping and storage containers for the AN/AQS-20A minehunting sonar system. The AN/AQS-20 is an underwater towed mine hunting sonar system chosen for integration onto the LCS Flight 0 vessel and the MH-60S helicopter. The AN/AQS-20A mission is to detect, classify, and identify bottom, floating, and moored mines in both deep and shallow water. It accomplishes this through acoustic sensors installed on the Navyââ¬â¢s common towed body. These sensors including a Forward Looking Sonar (FLS), Side Looking Sonar (SLS), Volume Search Sonar (VSS), and Gap Filler Sonar (GFS). An Electro-Optic Identification (EOID) sensor is also used. A technical proposal is required. Award will be on the basis of the lowest price technically acceptable offer. NSWC Panama City plans on releasing the solicitation electronically only.
