This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; the solicitation is provided as an attachment. Request For Quotation (RFQ) number is N66604-10-Q-4040. NUWC Division Newport intends to purchase the following item on a sole source basis from Cases-Cases, Inc.: 1 each P/N 30-15959-300 SubHDR Shipping Container. Required delivery is 20 weeks after award, F.O.B. Destination Naval Station Newport; Newport, RI. The basis for the sole source is that the case is the shipping container for the SUBHDR antenna system and this case has been subjected to design verification testing and approved by both the DOT and DOD. The SUBHDR contains HAZMAT material so requires the special testing and approval. All other timely offers will be considered. The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source using SAP and commercial item procedures as set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
