The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food Safety Inspection Services (FSIS) is seeking sources capable of providing the agency with an apron that meets the following specifications to be used by our meat and poultry inspectors. The apron needs to, at a minimum, be four (4) ounces in weight, be composed of urethane over nylon with surged nylon edges, have pre-laced ties, have a smooth finish, the thickness should be at least 5.5 Mils, and the size should be 35â x 55â. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) the FSIS is looking for aprons that are manufactured in the United States and are also manufactured by a small business. Please state in your response to this sources sought whether you can meet these criteria.
If you are a source capable of providing such an apron please respond to Sources Sought Synopsis with your company information, three (3) sample aprons, and pricing information. This notice is not a request for proposals and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the aprons received. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, the information will be used in FSISâs assessment of capable sources. Responses should be submitted by 3pm June 8, 2004.
