NA The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquistion Activity intends to purchase approximately 20-400 per year, research naïve, Indian-Origin rhesus macaques. Animals supplied for research must be naïve, healthy, and free of B-virus, SRV, STLV, and SIV. Alternativ e proposals may be considered to allow for the establishment of a contractor-owned breeding colony, acceptance of B-virus positive animals; and limited availability; however, these alternatives are not preferred. The anticipated awarded period of performa nce shall be one base year with four option year periods. The award is anticipated to be an Indefinit Delivery – Requirements, Firm-Fixed Price type contract. The non-human primates will be used for approved medical research programs for the U.S. Army M edical Research and Material Command. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. The solicitation shall be made available to interested parties through the website www.usamraa.army.mil. Instructions will be given within the RFP to respond to the solicition electronically. The Government does not intend to acquire a commerical item using FAR Part 12, see Numbered Note 26.
