The Bureau of Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has a requirement to purchase canines. Estimate canine procurement is (60 each) - base year; (72 each) - Option Period 1; (84 each) - Option Period 2; (96 each) - Option Period 3; (108 each) - Option Period 4. Only purebred Labrador Retrievers will be considered to undergo canine training. Contractors must be able to provide a minimum of 10 canines each year. In addition to other possible requirements, canines must be no younger than 12 months of age and have not reached 26 months of age at time of acceptance into the program. Canines must be neutered or spayed. Contractor must provide proof of complete physical examination by a state licensed veterinarian that includes eyes and plus hip x-rays. Contractor must provide proof of required inoculations and prophylactic heartworm medication. Kennel raised animals will not be accepted. Canines must have been raised in a home environment and be fully socialized. All canines will be tested for suitability prior to acceptance program. Canines that exhibit aggressive attitudes towards humans or other canines will not be accepted. ATF may require boarding of canines. ATF may make multiple awards. The NAICS code is 424990.
