The Kansas City Commodity Office (KCCO), Farm Service Agency, U.S. Department of Agriculture is a buyer of truck lots of food commodities for various domestic feeding programs. The following commodities, which are classified under NAICS code 311211, are purchased by KCCO. Purchases for Domestic Feeding Programs For Grain and Miscellaneous Processed Food Products: http://www.fsa.usda.gov/daco/Announcement/Domestic/domesticannon. htm Bakery Flour (BF): The bakery flour shall meet the requirements as specified in the Commercial Item Descripti on A-A-20126E (February 26, 2004) for flour products, except as may be specified in the Government’s invitation. Bakery flour shall be enriched, bleached, or unbleached. Wheat shall be tested for vomitoxin in accordance with procedures approved by Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS), and any wheat testing higher than 2 p.p.m. shall not be used in the production of the commodity. All wheat flour products must be tested for vomitoxin. Any product in excess of 1 p.p.m. shall not be shipped. Bakers hard wheat bread flour shall be suitable for use in continuous and conventional baking processes, or in the case of hearth-style, may contain potassium bromate added in a quantity not exceeding 25 parts to each million parts of finished enriched flour to achieve maximum quality commercially acceptable hearth-type bread products. Durum flour shall be suitable for use in making pasta products. The bakery flour product shall have a shelf life of at least one year from date of manufacturer. Product shall not be manufactured more than 30 days prior to shipping. Commodity may be packaged in suppliers commercial-labeled packages or USDA-labeled packages. For USDA-labeled packages, fifty (50) or 100 pounds of product shall be packed in multiwall paper bags, and the bags shall be of a type normally used in commercial channels. Corn Products (CP): The cornmeal, enriched shall meet the requirements as specified in the Commercial Item Descriptions (CID) A-A-20066A (August 14, 2002), except as may be specified in the Government’s solicitation. The cornmeal must be regular, bolted, or degermed and may be produced from white or yellow corn. Corn grits, enriched, shall meet the requirements as specified in the CID A-A-20035B (November 16, 1998). Instant corn masa flour, enriched, shall be produced from white or yellow corn which is clean, sound, essentially free from other grains, weed seeds, and other foreign material, as defined in the Official Grain Standards of the United States. The corn shall be processed into instant corn masa flour by cooking corn with lime and water, grinding and drying. The instant corn mass flour is designed for use in the preparation of tortillas and similar products. All corn must be tested for alfatoxin and the Cry9c protein. The corn products shall have a shelf life of at least one year from date of manufacturer. Product shall not be manufactured more than 30 days prior to shipping. Commodity may be packaged in suppliers commercial-labeled packages or USDA-labeled packages. For USDA-labeled packages, five (5) pounds of product shall be packed in bags constructed of 60-pound basis weight natural kraft or extensible paper. Ten (10) pounds of product shall be packed in bags constructed of 70-pound basis weight natural kraft or extensible paper. Twenty-five (25) pounds of product shall be packed in bags constructed of a minimum of three (3) walls of natural kraft paper having a minimum combined basis weight of 150 pounds. Fifty (50) or 100 pounds of product shall be packed in bags of a type normally used in commercial channels and constructed in compliance with the applicable carrier rules and regulations.
