VEGETABLE OIL (VO): The commodity delivered shall meet the requirements as specified in the Commercial Item Description for salad oils (vegetable), A-A-20091D (May 7, 2002). Salient characteristics in the CID for Type I soybean oil is amended to allow for soybean and vegetable oils only. All refined vegetable oil destined for delivery to India shall be Type I soybean oil. Vegetable oil shall be fortified with vitamin A (retinol palmitate). The commodity shall be packaged in either 6/4 liter cylindrical-style steel cans; 20 liter pails; or 208 liter steel drums.
CORN OIL (CO): The commodity delivered shall meet the requirements as specified in the Commercial Item Description (CID) for salad oils (vegetable), A-A-20091D (May 7, 2002) The Corn oil delivered shall be fortified with vitamin A (retinol palmitate). Contractors shall utilize the services of a private, independently owned and operated laboratory capable of performing the vitamin A analysis of the corn oil. Independent testing is authorized to certify the level of vitamin A fortification only. Corn oil shall be clear and brilliant. The commodity shall be packaged in either 6/4 liter cylindrical-style steel cans; 20 liter pails; or 208 liter steel drums.
BULK REFINED SOYBEAN OIL (BOT): The quality of the oil shall correspond to the specifications described in Rule 103 of the National Oilseed Processors Association?s Yearbook & Trading Rules. The oil shall be pure soybean oil, produced from fair average quality crude soybean oil from which essentially all of the free fatty acids and non-oil substances have been removed by chemical treatments and by mechanical or physical separation. The commodity will be purchased f.o.b. vessel at an approval port.
