The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service announces plans to purchase young whole turkeys, turkey roasts, and turkey hams for use in school lunch and other domestic food nutrition assistance programs. Invitations will be issued inviting offers due the first and third Monday of each month and will continue until program requirements are met. Bid requirements, including Announcements, Commodity Specifications, and current invitations to bid, can be found at http://www.ams.usda.gov/poultry/cp/turkey/index.htm. Small businesses (500 employees or less) are encouraged to participate. The Agricultural Marketing Service is actively seeking small businesses, that are also manufacturers, to participate in all its purchase programs.
