The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN), Charleston, Code 56410 (Advanced Law Enforcement Technology Branch), is seeking information about Commercial- Off-The-Shelf passive millimeter wave (MMW) detection systems that meet the needs of emergency responders, specifically public safety providers. The passive MMW detection systems can be either handheld, stand-alone, or a walk-through portal. The system should be comprised of a suite of components that includes hardware and software that works together to screen individuals carrying concealed weapons and other contraband. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Authorized Equipment List (AEL) item number for this equipment is 15SC-00-PPSS (Systems, Personnel / Package Screening). The target audience for this information is transportation security, law enforcement, and public safety providers. All submittals should be suited to the target audienceýýýs specific needs. Review of this information is being performed for DHS, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Technology Support Branch. DHS established the System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program to conduct comparative assessments and validation activities that provide the emergency responder community with information on important products and services. All information received will be treated as public knowledge and may be used in SAVER Program documentation; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. Specific information sought includes: 1. Company information, including name, address, point of contact, and URL. 2. Whether the company is a manufacturer or distributor. 3. Product name and a brief description (75 words or less). 4. Cost information such as purchase price. 5. Product specifications. The submitted information will be evaluated for inclusion in SAVER projects and reports. Determination as to an individual productýýýs suitability will be made by SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston based on the objectives of this request. Vendors may be contacted following submission for more detailed product information. Vendor provided information may be reformatted for publication in SAVER Program documents. Respondents are required to complete the attached product summary questionnaire (MMW_RFI_pub_0001) for each product and submit the questionnaire following the instructions on the first page of the questionnaire and submit by 11 April 2008.
