The National Institute on Aging, IRP, Clinical Research Branch at Harbor Hospital, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis with University of Florida, Florida Biologix, to produce 2 ml, a saline placebo to match the active drug epoetin alpha that is used in the REVEAL Trial. Florida Biologix has significant expertise in producing, testing, purifying and vialing biopharmaceutical products for pre-clinical, clinical and diagnostic applications through its state-of-the-art manufacturing and testing operation. Under the authority of FAR 13: 106; Simplified Acquisitions procedures; only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agencys requirement. This notice may represent the only official notice. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Solicitations from other vendors have been obtained. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurements.
