NASA/KSC has a requirement for the development of an IEEE 448 compatible daughter board to be used in concert with the single module 1757-ABRIO remote I/O bridge using the Control Logix 1700 series chassis. Once the module is developed, 25 units will be purchased. The Government also requires 1 year of technical support. NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from Quest Technical Solutions. Quest Technical Solutions was one of the several vendors authorized by Allen Bradley that were contacted to develop the module. The vendor that develops this module must be authorized by Allen Bradley to provide the connectivity to their equipment. Quest is the only company that showed interest in developing the module. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Jaime L. Dempsey, [email protected], no later than 2:00 p.m. local time on July 11, 2006. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".
