The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), intends to conduct negotiations on a sole source basis with the University of Pittsburgh for a modification to Contract 200-2005-12910 entitled" Development of Biomechanical Model of Knee to Reduce Knee Injuries in Mining". The objective of the modification is to validate the finite element model of the knee developed under the base contract by comparing ligament forces predicted by the model to those measured experimentally.
