This is a notice of intent of the Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle, Washington to award a sole source contract to DeCode Genetics for genotyping 1000 DNA samples using mircoarray protocol utilizing a proprietary Illumina Infinium chip. The protocol purpose is for the clinical studies advancement in targeting genome CNV. Clinical criteria dictate that other genotyping processes are not appropriate for the current study. This procurement is being conducted under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-5(b)(7) and 15 U.S.C. 657f. The Government believes that only one responsible source can provide the services that will satisfy the agency requirements. Other persons or entities may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by March 29, 2007. A determination by the Contracting Officer not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. All inquiries must be submitted in writing; telephone inquiries will not be accepted, nor response received after March 29, 2007.
