The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract to the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO), 60 Garden Street, Cambridge, MA 02130-1516 for the High Resolution Coronal Imager (Hi-C) Telescope Reflight. Under this contract, SAO will provide the refurbishment, repair, and replacement of the original Hi-C optics, targeting system, and vacuum valve system. It is critical for mission success that the resulting Hi-C system meet or exceed the optical performance achieved for the original instrument flight in 2012. This work includes telescope and system alignment and metrology, support to the integration and test and launch campaign activities, and post flight analysis, data reduction and reporting. Only SAO possesses the necessary knowledge, data, equipment, facilities, and unique experience required to perform the Hi-C Telescope Reflight activities.
