THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Naval Air Systems Command, NAWC, Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD has a requirement to provide additional funds in the amount of $1,527,000.00 to increase the level of effort and provide a revised statement of work to the competitively awarded cost plus fixed fee contract N00421-03-C-0070 with NAVMAR Applied Sciences Corporation, 65 W. Street Rd, Warminster, PA 18974. A sole source modification to the contract will be issued to assist the Air Vehicle Competency in providing continued engineering technology development efforts associated with the full life cycle of maritime and ship-based air vehicles and their associated subsystems. The contractor will provide engineering and technical support in the assessment of air platform requirements and associated enabling technologies. This is an exploratory development program involving remote control of test equipment, the development of a failure analysis database, and the operation of a portal external to the NAVAIR firewall. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S. C. 2304(c )(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and FAR 6.302-1(2)(ii) as a logical follow-on to an existing contract; no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements.
