Sources are sought in research and development by the Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate Guidance Division (AFRL/MNG) for the Optical Multidiscriminant (OMD) Seeker Technology program to develop multidiscriminant laser radar technology. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to obtain qualification packages from contractors interested in submtting proposals for the OMD program. The contractor will design and fabricate a multiple discriminant, high fidelity, scanning, time of flight laser radar breadbord system. This program will last approximately 15-18 months. It is anticipated that foreign companies will not be allowed to participate. Firms having applicable interest, capability and background should submit particulars in accordance with Numbered Note 25 to AFRL/MNK, Bldg 13, 101 W. Eglin Blvd., Suite 337, Eglin AFB FL 32542-6810, Attn: Carol Abbott. Responses to this synopsis must be received no later than 15 days after date of synopsis. Respondents are encouraged to participate in a pre-solicitation conference. Particulars about the pre-soliciation conference will be provided in the full program announcement provided to qualified contractors. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only, does not constitute an IFB or RFP, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Firms responding to this synopsis should state whether they are or are not a small business concern or a small disadvantaged business concern as defined in FAR 52.219-1 (NAICS Code 541710; Size standard is 500).
